Media Training 101-Staying Sharp with On-Camera Skills

The next tip from my Media Training 101 is to learn various appearance situations and stay sharp in those areas. Whether it be interviews, co-hosting, press junkets or speaking directly into the camera. This is a great for when you want to prepare yourself for success... so when bigger and better opportunities come to you, you want to have the experience to be prepared.

It's really important to know the difference between a regular interview, versus a press junket interview...and also it's great to learn teleprompter so that if an opportunity comes up for you to speak directly into the camera with a prompter, you know how to do that. So, set yourself up for success and get the training, now, while you're first starting to working to be a media expert. Whether you train with me as a media coach or somebody else, it's really important to train in all of these areas so that you're prepared for any situation or opportunity that might arise.

Shannon O’Dowd is an on-camera host, commercial spokesperson, & media training/on-camera instructor. Shannon has been working on both sides of the camera for well over a decade.

I eat, sleep, and breath on-camera training and coaching. I Literally wrote the book on how to prepare and embellish your on-camera performance. Finding talent managers and eventually agents means focusing on building out your resume, headshots, and sizzle reel. Having on-camera training can get you ready for the audition. I go above and beyond for my clients and teach up and coming professionals and established talent all over the Los Angeles area. Reach out! I want to continue to build a thriving community of entertainers.
